Teams want to know you're all in in a league where professionalism is just as important as athleticism. Where the heck did THAT lie come from?
In Bill's era, it was COMMON for a team to have 3-5 future HOF members, and at least one time (Philly WITH WILT) there was a team with 4 HOF on it at the time (1962-1963 I think) that didn't even make the playoffs.
EVERYONE was stacked back then - due to the low team count.
And the general consensus among Bill's TEAMMATES is that the offense "ran through Russell", assist rules were a lot tighter then or he's likely have had a lot more (and might have argued with OSCAR on the subject).

Re: Zion Williamson: High Chance He Declares for NBA Draft

Fashion planners work compelled to fulfill time constraints and establish a connection with fashion purchasers and other expected customers.
Cortiez

Re: 7 Things For NBA Basketball Player To Carry In His Backpack

I think these guys are carrying a ton of cash for the card games they play on the flights and road trip.

Re: Managing the Knicks’ Future Success: A Closer Look at 2023

Nice Article keep doing good work

Re: Top 10 Centers of the 1960’s

NOBODY has ever won on a team with no HoF members.
SERIOUS strawman argument there.
Also, DESPITE THE HYPE, Wilt didn't have "weak" teams most seasons - even the Warriors with him had 3-4 HOF level players EVERY SEASON he was there - yet they managed to MISS THE PLAYOFFS one of those seasons that they had *3* prime and one "almost ready to retire" HOF level players.
Keep in mind that talent was concentrated in that timeframe - there were COMMONLY 3-4 HOF level players on a LOT of teams, and 5 was NOT rare (though uncommon).
Head to head Bill held his own vs Wilt more than any other player - I'm not saying *anyone* could stop Wilt, but Bill was a better road bump than anyone else was.
Don't bother talking points - Bill didn't TRY to score a ton, WILT DID - but it was BILL leading the league every year with 2 exceptions in Defensive Win Shares (Wilt edged Bill twice out of Bill's last 3 seasons - but WILT wasn't scoring any more than Bill was by that point!).
What Bill did was be the defensive STOPPER - and his blocks and rebounds COMMONLY fed the Celtics Fast break for EASY points.
He also tended to feed open people quite often in the half-count game - he was consistently the Celtics #2 on assists per game most seasons, even higher after Bob retired. 4-5 assists per game FOR A CENTER is quite uncommon, and the assist rules were quite a bit tougher to meet back then.

The 1972 Lakers were 3 seasons AFTER Bill retired - THAT is a strawman argument for this comparison.
The 1966-1967 76ers were the SAME team as the season before and the season after (I'm not sure if ANYONE changed) - BUT LOST those 2 seasons.
They did have at least one major change the first season Wilt was there.
So even though they had a roughly equally talented team, they only managed 1 in 3 with that SAME talent.

But the whole point I was talking about was REBOUNDS - not anything else - and Bill stepped UP his rebounding in most playoff series, Wilt usually DIDN'T.

Re: Top 10 Centers of the 1960’s

First of all Bill never won with a team that had zero Hof's. That is just not true. Actually those Boston teams all had at least 4 and some had as many as 7 so not sure what you were talking about. Also bill couldnt guard Chamberlain one bit. Head to head Wilt destroyed Russell. Wilt averaged 30 and 28 and Russell averaged 15 and 22. Its not even close Wilt dominated Russell but the Celts as a whole dominated Wilt but that is the team not Russell. Also both times that Wilt won titles the team was better than all of those Celtic teams. 66 Sixers had 68 wins and 72 Lakers 69 wins. They were considered the best teams ever or at the very least had the record for most wins ever in a season til the Bulls won 70.So when Wilt played with HOF talent he produced more wins than every team in history at the time and 50-60 years later was only surpassed by 2 teams. Russell was at least a 3rd option and not a go to guy on offense so anybody that thinks a guy who was a role player on offense was greater than Wilt is either misinformed or flat out a Celtic fan.

Re: Top 10 Centers of the 1960’s

Wilt was better than both. His head to head stats against Russell are absurd . Completely dominated him but the Celts dominated Wilt. They never had less than 4 Hall of Famers and had as many as 7 on those title teams. Wilts 2 title teams had more wins than all of those Celtic teams and had the record for most wins in a season until the Bulls won 70. Russell was a 3 or 4 option and never was a go to guy on offense. He just wasnt better than Wilt. Jabbar came to the league as Wilt was winding done. They knock Wilt for having only 2 titles but Jabbar could only win 1 time in his first 11 years in the league. Ever other title was after Magic Johnson was drafted. Magic was the best player as soon as he led them to a tile in his rookie year and won the Finals MVP. Jabbar did have strong numbers but he didnt exactly come to the league and and pile up titles. Jabbar could score but was never the force that Wilt was. Wilt was a better defender, rebounder ,passer, transition player and shot blocker. When you see that Kareem only won 1 time in his first 11 years and then 5 once Magic was drafted, you have to wonder why?

Re: The Most Infamous NBA Injuries Of All Time

Your article was very informative i like to read it and i want to read more articles like this

Re: The Most Infamous NBA Injuries Of All Time

I have read the article carefully the information was quite informative as per my idea please keep posting such I ideas continuously.
Best Sports Betting Id Provider

Re: 7 Ways The Warriors Can Win The CHIP Again This Year

Rick Barry was superb in Golden State https://3x3nation.com/rick-...
